People with gender dysphoria are to be excluded according to a new executive order<\/strong><\/p>\n

US President Donald Trump has signed an executive order aimed at removing \u201cradical gender ideology\u201d<\/em> from the US armed forces.<\/p>\n

The order, titled \u2018Prioritizing Military Excellence and Readiness\u2019, was issued on Monday, just over a week after Trump\u2019s inauguration, as part of a broader effort to dismantle diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) programs in the federal government.<\/p>\n

The order says that military service should be reserved for those who are mentally and physically fit for duty. It outlines a policy focusing on troop readiness, lethality, cohesion, honesty, humility, uniformity, and integrity.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis policy is inconsistent with the medical, surgical, and mental health constraints on individuals with gender dysphoria,\u201d<\/em> the order states. \u201cThis policy is also inconsistent with shifting pronoun usage or use of pronouns that inaccurately reflect an individual\u2019s sex.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

Newly confirmed Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, who narrowly won Senate approval last Friday, is tasked with implementing the directive. Within 60 days, Hegseth must revise medical standards for military service to align with the order\u2019s objectives.<\/p>\n

Over the next month, he will set up a strategy to tackle the issues and submit it to Trump.<\/p>\n

The US will focus on \u201crestoring the warrior ethos, rebuilding our military, and reestablishing deterrence,\u201d<\/em> Hegseth said in a message to the armed forces on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The executive order follows a series of actions by the new US president aimed at dismantling DEI programs within the federal government.<\/p>\n
