{"id":4090,"date":"2025-06-22T13:07:18","date_gmt":"2025-06-22T13:07:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.developeternal.com\/?p=4090"},"modified":"2025-06-22T13:26:21","modified_gmt":"2025-06-22T13:26:21","slug":"pentagon-details-iran-strikes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.developeternal.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/22\/pentagon-details-iran-strikes\/","title":{"rendered":"Pentagon details Iran strikes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The US attack has \u201cdevastated\u201d Tehran\u2019s nuclear program, according to Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The US aerial strikes on Iran were an <em>\u201cincredible and overwhelming success\u201d<\/em> and <em>\u201cobliterated\u201d<\/em> the country\u2019s <em>\u201cnuclear ambitions,\u201d<\/em> according to US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth.<\/p>\n<p>The Pentagon chief made the remarks on Saturday evening during a large press conference alongside Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Dan Caine to detail the attack, codenamed <em>\u201cOperation Midnight Hammer.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe order we received from our commander-in-chief was focused, it was powerful, and it was clear,\u201d<\/em> Hegseth stated. <em>\u201cWe devastated the Iranian nuclear program, but it\u2019s worth noting the operation did not target Iranian troops or the Iranian people,\u201d<\/em> he added, claiming that <em>\u201cIran\u2019s nuclear ambitions have been obliterated.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The operation involved more than 125 aircraft, including seven B-2 Spirit strategic stealth bombers, as well as assorted reconnaissance planes, refueling tankers and fighter jets, according to Caine.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>At midnight Friday into Saturday morning, a large B-2 strike package comprised of bombers launched from the continental United States. As part of a plan to maintain tactical surprise, part of the package proceeded to the west and into the Pacific as a decoy,\u201d<\/em> Caine stated.<\/p>\n<p>The planes dropped a dozen 30,000-pound GBU-57 Massive Ordnance Penetrator bombs on nuclear facilities in Fordow and Natanz, he said.
