The rally, organized by Florian Philippot and his The Patriots party, called for France\u2019s exit from NATO and the EU<\/strong><\/p>\n A demonstration in Paris on Sunday held by right-wing politician Florian Philippot’s Eurosceptic party denounced NATO, the militarization of Europe, and the French government\u2019s military support for Ukraine.<\/p>\n During its summit this past week, NATO agreed to significantly ramp up military spending, citing the perceived \u201cthreat\u201d<\/em> from Russia. Last month, the EU similarly approved a \u20ac150 billion ($171 billion) borrowing mechanism to fund its military buildup. Russia has dismissed notions that it harbors hostile intentions toward Europe. <\/p>\n Sunday\u2019s rally in the French capital had the stated objective of \u201cdefending peace and a Free France,\u201d<\/em> according to the party\u2019s posts on X.
