One of the US president\u2019s children has said his family \u201chad not profited from politics\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Eric Trump, one of US President Donald Trump\u2019s three sons, has hinted at the possibility of himself or a family member running for his father\u2019s office in the 2028 elections.<\/p>\n

Since 2017, Eric and his older brother, Donald Trump Jr., have co-headed the Trump Organization; their father transferred its management to them to avoid conflicts of interest during his first term in office. Eric oversees Trump Hotels, a world-wide chain of luxury hotels and resorts.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the Financial Times last Friday, when asked if a Trump family member would run in the next election, Eric responded rhetorically, \u201cWho knows?\u201d<\/em> He added that \u201cthere\u2019s more people than just me\u201d<\/em> among the Trumps who could become a presidential candidate.<\/p>\n

Trump Jr. said he was \u201cwholly unimpressed by half the politicians I see,\u201d<\/em> and suggested that he could do politics \u201cvery effectively.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

He also emphasized that the family \u201chad not profited from politics,\u201d<\/em> citing their need to \u201cdefend themselves\u201d<\/em> against federal and state authorities\u2019 allegations of business and political ties to Russia and claims that the Kremlin has used them to exert influence on US elections.<\/p>\n

In 2016, Trump Jr. served as the main fundraiser for his father\u2019s presidential campaign. He also argued against the results of the 2020 elections, accusing the Democrats of fraud and posting videos and photos of alleged illegal ballot changes on social media.<\/p>\n

During Donald Trump\u2019s first term, his daughter Ivanka served as director of the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship, while Eric\u2019s wife, Lara Trump, was co-chair of the Republican National Committee.<\/p>\n
