{"id":963,"date":"2025-01-26T15:46:51","date_gmt":"2025-01-26T16:46:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.developeternal.com\/?p=963"},"modified":"2025-01-26T17:25:50","modified_gmt":"2025-01-26T17:25:50","slug":"musk-proposes-renaming-english-channel","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.developeternal.com\/index.php\/2025\/01\/26\/musk-proposes-renaming-english-channel\/","title":{"rendered":"Musk proposes renaming English Channel"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>The SpaceX CEO\u2019s suggested rebrand came after Donald Trump made two major map changes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tech billionaire Elon Musk has suggested that the US change the name of the English Channel to <em>\u201cthe George Washington Channel\u201d<\/em> in honor of the first American president, after US President Donald Trump renamed of the Gulf of Mexico as the Gulf of America.<\/p>\n<p>In a post on his X platform on Saturday, Musk proposed a <em>\u201cnew name for the water that separates England and France,\u201d<\/em> sharing a satellite photo of the channel with <em>\u201cThe George Washington Channel\u201d<\/em> imposed over the strait.<\/p>\n<p>Musk\u2019s post was likely tongue-in-cheek, but it came less than a week after Trump \u2013 a close political ally of Musk \u2013 ordered the Gulf of Mexico to be renamed the Gulf of America, and the Alaskan peak Denali to be returned to its pre-2015 name of Mount McKinley.
